To be proactive in their job search, students should interact with the Career Center soon after they begin their first year. Early contact is integral to the success of Mines students and graduates so they will be able to acquire the necessary job search and professional development skills. The initial goal is to help the student first obtain experience while they are in school. In order to achieve this goal, the Career Center starts the students’ career development process through workshops, one-on-one job search advice, resume development, practice interviews, proactive recruiting outreach, student presentations, and continuous communications. Students are strongly encourage to attend the huge fall and spring Career Day events at, company information sessions, use of the online recruiting database, and on-campus interviews.

The Career Center staff can help you with creating a value-added resume / CV and strong customized cover letters that best present your qualifications for strong marketability and increase your conversion rate of resumes submitted to interviews obtained. The Career Center will assist in developing and implementing your online strategy with the important tools will result in a positive response.

Presented by Career Center Staff and top company recruiters, over forty workshops a year are offered to all students, student groups, and in classroom presentations.
